Iron Horse Aquatics Diving
Program Requirements
The following skills and dives are recommended for each diver to possess in order to qualify for the training group. Based on age, quality and consistency of skill, and group size, Iron Horse Coaches reserve the right to make group assignments to benefit each individual as well as the group learning environment as a whole.
Introductory Programs
To qualify for the Learn to Dive group the future diver must pass a diving evaluation which includes a swim test both shallow and deep.
Learn to Dive:
8, 1 hour long lessons teaching the fundamentals of diving (front jump, back jump, forward entry, backward
entry, hurdle approach) on 1-meter.
Cost: $160.00/8 week session
Lessons:
2 hour/ week. Continuing to build on diving fundamentals. Progressing skills into dives and taking fundamentals to 3-meter.
Cost: $160.00 / month
To qualify for the Lessons group it is recommended that the diver be able to perform the following skills on:
1m: 100, 200, standing 001, standing 002 (with spot is acceptable), hurdle approach, demonstration of straight, tuck, and pike positions.
3m: Willingness to go off the 3m board
Competition: No competition at this level
Competitive Programs
Steel Team:
3 hours/ week. Divers are building a voluntary dives list (front dive, back dive, reverse dive, and inward dive) on 1 meter and 3 meter.
Cost: $180.00
To qualify for the Steel Team it is recommended that the diver be able to perform or on the cusp of learning the following skills on
1m: 100, 200, 001, 002 (no spot), hurdle approach, 101, 201, 301, 401 and 102
3m: 100, 200, 001, 002, hurdle approach, 101, 401
Competition: should be able to compete at future champion and novice level depending on age group requirements- Required to compete in at least four local or travel meets, hold an AAU membership and own an arena team swimsuit
Onyx Team:
4.5 hours/ week. Dives are building optional dives for their list (flips and more) on 1-meter and 3-meter.
Cost: $205.00
To qualify for the Onyx Team it is recommended that the diver be able to perform all the Steel qualifying skills and the following skills or on the cusp of learning
1m: 103, 202, 302, 402 a twisting dive
3m: 201, 301, 103, 202, 302, 403 a twisting dive
Competition: should be able to compete at novice and JO level depending on age group requirements- Required to compete in at least five local or travel meets, hold an AAU membership and own an arena team swimsuit
Titanium Team:
8.5 hours/ week. Divers train dives in all directions on both 1-meter and 3-meter.
Cost: $300.00
To qualify for the Titanium Team it is recommended that the diver be able to perform all the Steel and Onyx qualifying skills and the following skills or on the cusp of learning
1m: 104, 203, 303, 403 twisting dives, and beyond
3m: 105, 203, 303, 405, twisting dives and beyond
Competition: should be able to compete at JO level depending on age group requirements- Required to compete in at least six local or travel meets with the goal of acquiring nationals qualification, hold an AAU membership and own an arena team swimsuit
